With the earthquake in China, the cyclone disaster in Myanmar, (Burma) and the tornado’s in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and other states in the south, what is going on with these horrible natural disasters?

Is is global warming? Is God mad at us and we are being punished? I don’t think it is either one of those things. Although, I may be in the minority. Over at USA Today, all of the comments on the Earthquake in China were about God and his wrath, bible quotes were being thrown about like old clichés. Bickering back and forth among the ‘folks’ then the unthinkable name calling, ‘left wing liberal,’ and ‘right wing conservatives.’ Come on people, have we been reduced to this?

Horrible disasters have struck our fellow man. Human beings are struggling to survive in Myanmar while the junta holds off supplies and aid that could save thousands of them. If that isn’t cold blooded murder, I don’t know what is. Can the United Nations step in and stop this from happening? A regime that holds an election when people are dropping like flies from neglect because they are not letting aid into the country. Is this not a form of genocide? How can we in United States-average Americans-call each other names and think of such petty little differences when such heinous adversity is all around us?

USA Today reported,

The 7.8-magnitude quake trapped nearly 900 students under the rubble of their school and devastated a hilly region in Sichuan and nearby provinces. The official Xinhua News Agency said 8,533 people died in Sichuan and dozens of other deaths were reported elsewhere..

It’s crazy to sit here in our comfy offices or homes in front of our computers, calling each other names. One good thing about 9/11, for a short time, the ‘We’ as in ‘We the people…’ was back in America. Now it seems we have returned to the ‘I the person…’
